Big Sur Camping Trip, Spring Break 2016

For the break between Winter and Spring Quarters 2016, a group of my closest
friends and I drove north to Big Sur and we spent the week hiking, surfing, and
spending quality time with another at our camp site.

After a long day at the beach.

We hiked to a beautiful waterfall.

We had to stop to enjoy the beautiful view & bridge!

Night at the Oscars, Cru Central Coast, Winter 2016

Night at the Oscars, an event raising money for CURE international, was a night to
remember - laughing with another and celebrating Christ surrounded by friends.  Cal
Poly students created their own short films for different categories, which all in the
            audience voted on.

Cal Poly Women's Club Basketball, Stanford Tournament, Winter 2016

With the Cal Poly Women's Club Basketball Team - the club I both started and now
serve as President for - the A team traveled to Stanford University for our first
tournament ever. After playing very well established club programs from other
universities, we ended up winning the tournament!

Engineering Outreach Experience, Fall 2014 & Winter 2015

A group of four freshman engineering students, including myself, conducted an engineering outreach project over our first two quarters at Cal Poly. We successfully designed and built one large catapult and we gathered materials and prepared procedures for the assembly of small catapults. We then took our project to Lange Elementary School to engage 4th and 5th graders in a lab led by our team. In this lab, the children were divided into groups of 4 and given a lab procedure written by my team. This procedure led the students through the assembly of the small catapults. After each team assembled their catapults, we gave them different types of candy to launch with their catapults. The students recorded and analyzed their data. We ended our outreach project by taking the children outside to launch water balloons with the large catapult. Our goal was to get the children interested in the STEM fields by introducing them to the very basics of energy and distance equations.

Cal Poly Intramural Basketball, Winter 2015

I participated in two co-ed intramural basketball teams during the 2015 Winter
Quarter. One team was in the most competitive division, while the other was the second
highest division. Games were once, and sometimes twice, a week per team. Both teams
made it to the championship game of post season, placing second overall in both
         leagues.

Cal Poly Intramural Volleyball, Winter 2015

During Winter Quarter of 2015, I played on an intramural volleyball team. Games were
either once or twice every week throughout the quarter. This team was in the second
highest division at Cal Poly, and we made it to the semi-finals of post season.

Cal Poly Intramural Basketball, Fall 2014

I participated in co-ed intramural basketball in the fall, playing games every Sunday.
As team captain, I helped lead the team to the championship game in the most
competitive level of play offered at Cal Poly.

Volunteer Coach, YMCA 2011-2014

Every summer since 2011 I have volunteered through the YMCA as a soccer coach for
young children. In addition, in the fall  of 2012 I coached indoor soccer and basketball.
Ages of the teams varied from 3-4 year olds, to 8-10 year olds. Coaching was fun, not
only because I had the opportunity to work with children many hours a week, but also
because I knew I was making a difference in the children's lives by being a positive role
model. My responsibilities included bringing equipment to practice, sending emails to
parents about schedule changes and reminders, leading practices, managing
          substitutions, and refereeing games.

2013 AAU West Coast National Champions

Three years of my high school career I was on a competitive traveling basketball team.
Twice a week I would travel two hours south of my hometown to practice with my
team, and weekends were spent playing in tournaments all around Washington or
bordering states. The summer of 2013, my team and I traveled to our first national
championship tournament in Las Vegas. After four long days of intense basketball, we
claimed the 2013 AAU West Coast National Championship title.
